Quite a few people ordered, and are just receiving, the set of raw materials for preparing their own set of cell salts and since many are about to start the process it would be a good idea to have a space to discuss or ask other people questions about the process of creating them and their use, so we can use this space for that.

If you are looking for preparation instructions you can find them here
Later, I will edit this entry with links to reading material for easy access

Date: 2024-02-14 11:36 pm (UTC)I appreciated your comment in the message to Danius about the benefits of doing as much of the work as possible by hand so as to "imbibe" one's personal energy into the process.

Date: 2024-02-19 03:57 am (UTC)Anyways, a quarter of the given recipe means:
1g to .25 grams
9cc (ml) to 2.25cc
I found this graduated cylinder that should make measuring out fractions of a ml/cc doable: https://sciplus.com/plastic-graduated-cylinder-0-2-10ml/
Following the formula, a 3x solution will give you just about 250ml of liquid, or 8.5 oz of liquid:
.25 grams of salt into 2.25ml of booze
Then add 22.5ml of booze
Finally 225ml of booze (2.25+22.5+225= 249.75!)
So you can fit most of your 3x or 6x into 8oz brown/blue tincture bottles, which can be found readily enough, with the excess going into 1 oz tincture bottles. So for both 3x and 6x, you would only have to store/transport 24 8oz bottles, plus one for bioplasma. Should be very doable! And as I said, finding 8oz bottles in brown/blue for UV protection is easy, insuring your solution will last.
More math fun: For the whole set of 24 cell salts at 3x and 6x, you are looking at 192 oz of fluid. Where I am, Everclear (190 proof grain alcohol) is sold in 1.75L bottles. 1.75L is equal to 59.18oz, so you'll need 3.25 bottles of Everclear to make the complete set of cell salts. Price wise, that means you are probably spending $120-$160 for the booze. Doable economically, and plus the neighbors won't think you're a lush :)
I believe I got this all right, but math was never my strong point, I was a history major :D If you see any glaring mistakes or omissions, please feel free to correct/point them out.
Happy cell salt brewing everyone!

Date: 2024-04-05 09:32 am (UTC)At present, it seems the most concentrated, clear, and economically feasibly alcohol that I can legally obtain here is vodka at 40% ABV (80 proof?).
This may not be strong enough. I wonder should I just wait until I can obtain something stronger, or is there anyone with experience of using lower strength alcohols for this purpose?

Date: 2024-04-05 04:44 pm (UTC)80 proof is probably close enough but what I would do is distill it. You can make a set at home with fishtank plastic tubes and a few containers!
Here are the instructions for a home made distillation set from Mark Stavish

Date: 2024-04-07 04:50 pm (UTC)I might be able to get some other stronger stuff from some "guy I know"... ;)
But then the question is how to determine the "proof"?
higher proof
Date: 2024-05-20 02:23 am (UTC)Same trouble in Aus: we adults are not trusted to manage anything above 40% alcohol. There is one exception: a Polish 190-proof vodka is available. I have been able to have it sent by post from the seller in Melbourne to wherever in the country I have been living (I use it for making perfume and tinctures). Thanks to
It is called Polmos Spirytus Rektyfikowany. Based in Warsaw.
No idea whether it is available in Ireland, but it seems to have given the usual regulations the slip here so maybe it or something similar is to be had for the looking where you are.
Unfortunately the bottles are only 500mL and the price is really high. And you would be scandalising your neighbours by the number of bottles you'd be putting out...
Dear
Your blog's entries and comments always throw me because no dates are visible, and I am always uncertain whether I am months behind in sending comments, so often as not I don't. Hope this is not too late to be pertinent!

Re: higher proof
Date: 2024-05-20 02:50 pm (UTC)Not too late at all. In fact, I expect it to become active once I get a chance to start doing mine and I start posting. So you are a bit a head of the party and helping settle up ;-)
As for the dates. It throws me off too. Let me see if I can fix that.

Date: 2024-05-20 05:56 am (UTC)Just to clarify since there were some miss deliveries, when you say you didn't get it you mean you didn't pay for it then but want to pay for a set now correct?

Date: 2024-05-20 06:05 am (UTC)As for the link, here you go. Take a read at the instructions just to make sure you understand the process. The instructions have it planned for a liter per salt to facilitate calculations. Most of us have proportionately reduced the quantity because of the expense and also because of the space. 12 litters is a lot!
Here is the link! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLURhKixhjE2hKuK7PaAwuXkxxQeZ4-4VxFZY3FTeT0SThdg/viewform?usp=sf_link
It was going for $25 a set, $37 for two sets.
