Those are good points. Yes and yes on the first two examples. As to many of the Christians I've met, that makes sense. In the back of my mind, I'm fairly certain my mother's Mormon parents and siblings spent a good deal of energy long ago, when I was a kid and then a young adult, praying that I'd "see the light".

Well, that never happened, but what DID happen was that even now as an old lady of 64, I don't warm up to that side of the family. Likely with good cause. They feel manipulative. I'm polite on the rare occasions our paths cross, but that's pretty much it.
