I wonder: JMG emphasizes the importance of consent in prayer. Do you think this could be, at least in part, to make the prayer itself more effective? Along the lines of your helpful comment about engagement between the person praying and the person receiving?
I'm thinking if a person has requested prayer, they are engaged. If they have not, maybe they aren't.
