I am sorry to have taken so long to get back to you on this, I wanted to go back and review the longer, more elaborate approach before I offered an opinion on the difference, and then other stuff came up.
It's hard to say which is more useful - the boiled down version you presented here certainly got to the point helpfully, and you were still able to answer some follow up questions. The longer form, on the other hand, made it a bit clearer how you arrived at your distilled summary of the reading, even without much knowledge of the Tarot.
I imagine that if you were doing a reading in a system I was familiar with, I'd likely prefer the more detailed one, just as a way to compare notes and learn. Also, if you were charging, I might feel more like I "got my money's worth" with the more detail (kidding aside, it would make coming back to it and re-assessing easier, so maybe there truly is some added value there).
