As requested, a few notes on the English:
"anecdotic" would more often be rendered as "anecdotal"
In that same sentence, using three "buts" reads as a bit awkward in English, though not technically grammatically incorrect. A possible way around it (though obviously I don't know the original Spanish): "This book, though modest and anecdotal, represents but one attempt at opening the eyes to a hidden reality - one alive, safeguarded, and thrusting within the heart and essence of our country."
"And the most extraordinary of all is that such an attitude of submission. . .
"This methodology also allowed us/them to test some of the therapeutic procedures. . .
